Privacy Policy

The NowSignage platform can be used in a variety of different ways. It can be used to search and share information, to store found content or to create and upload new content. As you use our platform, we want to be transparent about how and when NowSignage collects, uses, shares and protects your information and the ways in which you can protect your privacy. It also expands on our legal rights for accessing data when using the platform to connect to third party applications.

By using our service you understand and agree that we are providing a platform for you to broadcast content, including photos, comments and other materials, to external websites and URLs and to share this content publicly. All users with permission access to your account are solely responsible for the content that is broadcast to the viewing public. This policy applies to all users who access our platform.



We collect information to provide a better service to all of our users; from figuring out basic information like what country you are in, to gaining access to the third party accounts that you connect within your account.

• Information that you give us. Our platform requires you to register a company account. When you do, we’ll ask for personal information, like your name, email address and telephone number. If you want to take full advantage of the user features we offer, we might also ask you to upload an avatar picture which will be visible to all users within your account and NowSignage administrators.

• Information we receive from your use of our platform. We collect information about your platform usage and user behaviour metrics, like when you last logged in, when you create a new project, or what device you accessed the platform on. We also automatically collect and store certain information; such as information stored locally on your device using data caching and cookies.

• Information that we have access to. All content that you create and upload to the platform is stored on the NowSignage secure cloud servers. By connecting third party applications into your project, you are giving permission for NowSignage to access data that can be extracted from these source; for example, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. This data is restricted and controlled by the access granted by these third party applications.



NowSignage have a secure policy when it comes to connecting third party applications into our platform. In all instances a user only has permission to connect a third party application into a project in their account and only users with specific permission access to that project will have access to the data extracted from these third party applications. You can set permission rights within your account settings to enable only certain account users to have access rights to a specific project. Users can only connect third party applications if they have admin rights and/or username and password details for the third party application. Any content that is publicly available through the third party application is permitted for use within the NowSignage platform; this is consistent with the terms and conditions of the third parties Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.



NowSignage may receive information about your location. For example, we may determine location by using data from your device, such as precise location information from GPS, information about wireless networks or your IP address. We may use and store information about your location to provide additional regional specific features, or in some cases limit access to aspects of our platform.



A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer or mobile device. Like many websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to collect additional platform usage data and to improve our service to you. NowSignage may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our platform, to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on our platform, and to customize and improve a personalised service to you. Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by changing its settings, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. However, some services of the platform may not function properly if you disable cookies.



NowSignage endeavours to protect itself and its users from unauthorised access of information that NowSignage holds. In particular we encrypt our platform using SSL. We provide a login verification process to access your NowSignage Account and a secure environment when in the platform. We regularly review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorised access to the platform. We restrict access to your data by only enabling access to users who have been granted these rights by the account owner.



While your account is open we store your data permanently until you have removed it, or for as long as it is necessary to provide the agreed product or service to you. You can delete your account any time. When you delete your account, we delete all trace of your personal data, uploaded files and saved content. Information associated with your account will be kept until your account is deleted, unless we no longer need the data to provide products and services.



NowSignage provide the capability to embed their products as widgets integrated into third-party websites or apps. In certain circumstances NowSignage may tailor this service for you based on the methods used to integrate these widgets. When these websites or apps load our widgets, NowSignage will monitor tracking data on that widget. This may include things such as number of user interactions and click through rates.



NowSignage uses a variety of third-party services, such as Google Analytics to help us understand and improve the use of our platform. These third-party service providers may collect information sent by your browser as part of a page request, such as cookies or your IP address.



To the maximum extent permitted by law, you hereby release and waive all claims against NowSignage, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, licensors, co-branders or other partners, and employees from any and all liability for claims, damages (actual and/or consequential), costs and expenses (including litigation costs and lawyers’ fees) of every kind and nature, arising from or in any way related to your use of the NowSignage platform and APIs.

Effective: 25 May 2018

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, port and erase the data that you have provided NowSignage. You also have the right to object to and control how we process your data.

NowSignage will only store data that we require to operate and administer the services you have licenced from us, or until you request for your account to be deleted – whichever is sooner. When you request your account to be deleted within the NowSignage platform, we will delete any image and video assets, timetables, loops, screens and webpages you have created within the platform. The data is irretrievable once deleted.

ABOUT COOKIES

A cookie is a small text file containing an identifier (usually a collection of letters and numbers) that are created and transmitted by the web server to the browser, and the persisted on the browser.

This identifier is sent to the server when the browser requests another page from the server.

Cookies can take two forms; either “persistent” or “session” cookies. A persistent cookie will be stored on the browser until it reaches its expiry age or the user explicitly deletes it. A session cookie is only stored until the end of the user session, which is the time until the user closes their browser; the cookie is then removed.

Cookies do not typically contain any information that personally identifies a user, but personal information that we store about you may be linked to the information stored in and obtained from cookies.

  • Description: This stores an alphanumeric string, containing information that identifies which user is currently accessing the platform. We use this cookie to ensure that the user is already logged into the NowSignage Platform, and map the browser session to an NowSignage user ID.

  • Type: Third Party Cookie

  • Duration: Two years from the last page request.

  • Description: NowSignage uses Google Analytics to monitor traffic levels and user engagement with our platform’s functionality. The value of this cookie is an anonymised string that distinguishes page visits between users.

  • Type: Third Party Cookie

  • Duration: The maximum age of these cookies is around 2 years after the last visit to a web page that embeds a YouTube video.

  • Description: These cookies are used by the YouTube platform to distinguish and track user behavior. Information about user interaction with YouTube elements may be transmitted and sent to YouTube servers within the United States. The cookies will not uniquely identify a user, unless signed into a Google/YouTube account.

  • Description: We use New Relic to measure application performance and stability, as well as provide descriptive feedback when errors occur. Information about the web page load may be collected and transmitted to the United States.

Refusing Cookies

You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.

Incident Response Time and Service Level Agreement


 

NowSignage operate off a strict Service Level Agreement (SLA) meaning we guarantee platform uptime and never leave you waiting for a response to an urgent issue. For our full SLA agreement please refer to our ‘end-user agreement’ documentation.

  • Initial Contact: Our uptime Notification Service will transmit a notification to all subscribers informing them of fault(s) that have led to interruption of their service within the NowSignage platform.
  • Status Update: We will continue to provide an update on the nature of the fault(s) within the platform via the Notification System, and will endeavour to update this as we learn new information.
  • Resolution: We have identified a solution to the fault(s) causing downtime on the NowSignage platform and where appropriate will be releasing a fix to all customers, pending technical details (such as propagation, deploy times etc.)

NowSignage provides free use of uptime monitoring software to notify Customers with information regarding ongoing downtime and emergency maintenance to the Hosted Application infrastructure.
